PTV Bans All Anti-Taliban News Items. Is It?

I'm not an avid viewer of PTV or PTV News, so never realized that anti Talban news items have been banned from all PTV channels. I wonder if this is true. The Times of India published it as a news item on September 25, 2009 in their website edition. If this is true, it is really strategic and issue should be raised on different platforms and be made a topic of discussion among people because it shows a big dichotomy in government's policy of fighting the terrorism of TTP in Pakistan.

If someone knows the truth, please put in the comments underneath this post. Extremely grateful!

Dont trust Times of India. The report has not authentic quotes, or official point of view on this. The story with such "sources" has no base. This item is merely to destroy the image of a Pakistani institution, given that its published in TOI. The story has no credibility, and the reporter sounds more like Ansar Abbasi.
Imran Mir has struggled a lot to present a professional and objective point of views, and had no connections with any religious outfits.
At some level he's an arrogant, straight forward and uncompromising and I think Mir, being Mir, might have pissed the reporter off.
Its unfortunate that news reporters, and especially the correspondents working for foreign media organizations dont check facts, and use the medium to advance their own agenda. And character assassination has lately been one of the tools.

Well, havat you said about media and its inefficiency and lack of reporting ethics, I would differ slightly on the credentials of Mr. Imran Mir. There opinions about his being a part of Jamat ud Dawa. All I wanted to know was, whether he was recommended by the Minister of Information? And whether PTV has actually banned anti Taliban news?
Another thing that I might clarify here, Times of India is not a complete propaganda paper. It is quite a credible and authentic newspaper.

No, he's not a political appointee. And banning anti-Taliban news is a wide term, especially since the army operation started. The focus must have been to support the troops.
On TOI, let's agree to disagree! :)

why those who are based in Islamabad can't investigate the facts from PTV, instead getting engaged in debate about the credibility of a journalist or a media outlet? Comments posted on this news item sound like bizarre. It is like Kutta and Kaan joke!

Salam.
This is not the only case in which the role of PTV is being looked with suspicions in our country. As for as ban on the news items regarding Taliban is concerned, the fact is that ground realities are much more different from the images constructed through our official media. The most concerning point in this process is that different 'kinds' of beliefs are being emerged among the lay men and intellectuals, and both, I am afraid, are not in favor of the bright future of Pakistan. Human rights violations in the war hit zone, by the ‘pak’ Army and extending support and giving free hand to the militants in some spots are understandably creating frustration among the people.
regards.
